Details:
On or about Saturday, January 8th, 2022, around 11:00 at night, a serious single-vehicle car accident sent a 22-year-old driver to the hospital. Authorities from the LPD said the accident was reported along 34th Street near the intersection with Quaker Avenue in Lubbock, Texas.
Officers from the Lubbock Police Department said 22-year-old Christopher Mendez was seriously injured when the car he was driving allegedly veered off the side of 34th Street and crashed into a boulder a short distance off the pavement. Paramedics transported the driver of the car to University Medical Center with serious injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of 34th Street and Quaker Avenue is on the southeast side of Lubbock.
