On or about Tuesday, August 17th, 2021, around 4:45 in the morning, an accident between a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 35-year-old Westwego man. Troopers from the LSP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Highway 90 in Avondale, Louisiana.
Deputies from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Department said 35-year-old Christopher Molina was killed when the motorcycle he was driving was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer that pulled out of a parking lot and into the roadway. Molina was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Officers did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, Highway 90 runs east and west through the center of Avondale, which is about 14 miles southwest of downtown New Orleans.
Police are still investigating the accident.
