On or about Sunday, December 19th, 2021, around 5:00 in the morning, an accident with a suspected drunk driver claimed the life of a 43-year-old woman. Local law enforcement personnel said the accident was reported along Settlers Village Drive in Harris County, Texas.
Authorities said 43-year-old Claudia Mata Pena was killed when her vehicle was allegedly struck by a car that ran a red light on Settlers Village Drive. Pena was pronounced dead of her injuries a short time after the collision. Officials identified the driver of the other vehicle as 28-year-old Pedro Martinez, who currently faces charges of intoxication manslaughter in connection with the crash.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 27 miles northwest of downtown Houston.
Authorities are still looking into the accident.
