Details:
On or about Friday, March 26th, 2021, around 1:39 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian left a 31-year-old man dead. Troopers from the ALEA said the accident was reported in the 1700 block of South Main Street in Atmore, Alabama.
Investigators said 31-year-old Clemente Terrance Sims was killed when he was allegedly struck and dragged by an 18-wheeler. Paramedics pronounced Sims dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident. Authorities did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement.
According to Google Maps, Main Street runs north and south through the center of Atmore, which is located about 51 miles northeast of Mobile.
Authorities are still looking into the cause of the accident.
