Details:
On or about Tuesday, September 14th, 2021, around 9:10 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer left a 33-year-old Van Buren man dead. Deputies from the Conway County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 40 in Blackwell, Arkansas.
Arkansas State Police said 33-year-old Cody Bailey was killed when his GMC Sierra pickup allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer that had slowed or stopped in traffic. Paramedics pronounced Bailey dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Authorities did not report any other injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 40 runs east and west through Blackwell, which is about 58 miles northwest of Little Rock.
State and local law enforcement agencies are investigating.
