On or about Friday, February 19th, 2021, around 9:00 in the morning, an accident between a dump truck and a tractor-trailer left a 35-year-old man dead. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened along Highway 20 in Morgan County, Alabama.
Authorities from the area said 35-year-old Cody Carter was killed when his dump truck allegedly hit by back of a tractor-trailer. Emergency responders pronounced Carter dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Officials did not elaborate on what may have caused the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the north side of Decatur a short distance from the banks of the Tennessee River.
State Police assisted local law enforcement at the scene of the accident.
