Corbin Hamby Jr. and Tyrone Williams were killed and nine other people injured after a three car crash on U.S. 29, near Opelika, AL, on Monday, December 9, 2024. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office reports that a Ford E-450 being driven by Jeanette J. Washington collided with a Ford F-150 being driven by Tyrone Williams, and then struck a Nissan Xterra being driven by Wesly D. Downs. Hamby Jr. and Williams were pronounced dead at the scene by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and all other passengers and drivers were taken to nearby hospitals for various injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
