On or about Saturday, September 11th, 2021, around 10:20 at night, an accident between a car, a tractor-trailer, and a pedestrian claimed the life of a 73-year-old man. Police said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Highway 98 in Perry County, Mississippi.

Deputies from the Perry County Sheriff’s Office said 73-year-old Curtis Davis was killed when he was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer and a car while he was walking alongside or making an attempt to cross the westbound lanes of Highway 98. Paramedics pronounced Davis dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident.

According to Google Maps, Highway 98 runs east and west through the center of Perry County, which is about 22 miles southeast of Hattiesburg.

Officials are still working to pin down the cause of the accident.
