Details:
On or about Tuesday, June 7th, 2022, around 3:50 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian left a 72-year-old man dead. Authorities from the VSP said the accident was reported along Route 460 in Bedford County, Virginia.
Spokespeople from the Virginia State Police said 72-year-old Curtis Junior Martin was killed when he was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross Route 460. Emergency responders pronounced Martin dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their statement.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from the exchange with Candle Lane.
Police are still investigating the events leading to the incident.
