On or about Thursday, May 20th, 2021, around 10:30 in the morning, an accident between a dump truck and a utility truck claimed the life of a 55-year-old man. Authorities said the accident was reported along North 1200th Avenue near East 2200th Street in Quincy, Illinois.
Troopers from the Illinois State Police said 55-year-old Curtis Lieurance was killed when the utility truck he was driving and a dump truck collided under unknown conditions. Emergency responders pronounced Lieurance dead of his injuries a short time after the crash. Paramedics airlifted the as-of-yet unidentified driver of the dump truck to the hospital with unknown injuries.
According to Google Maps, Quincy is situated about 126 miles north of St. Louis, along the banks of the Mississippi River.
