On or about Wednesday, February 24th, 2021, around 7:30 in the evening, an accident between a cyclist and a transit bus left a 40-year-old man dead. Law enforcement spokespeople said the accident happened in the 9900 block of Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Police said an as-of-yet unidentified 40-year-old man was killed when he was allegedly struck by a SEPTA bus while he was riding near or on the roadway. Emergency responders rushed the cyclist to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital where he died of his injuries a short time after his arrival. Officials did not mention any other vehicles or injuries.
According to Google Maps, the 9900 block of Frankford Avenue is situated in the Torresdale area of Philadelphia.
Police are still investigating the factors that led to the accident.
