On or about Thursday, January 6th, 2022, around 7:00 in the evening, an accident between two vehicles left one woman dead and has another woman facing charges. Law enforcement spokespeople from the area said the accident was reported in the 1200 block of East Nolana Avenue in McAllen, Texas.
Authorities from the area said 46-year-old Cynthia Ann Lopez was killed when the passenger vehicle she was in was allegedly struck by another vehicle driven by 26-year-old Claudia Ann Carrizales on East Nolana Avenue. Emergency responders pronounced Lopez dead a short time after the accident, while Carrizales was taken to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
Police said Claudia Ann Carrizales faces charges stemming from the accident once she is released from the hospital.
Officials are still investigating.
