Police spokespeople said 70-year-old Cynthia Burnett was taken to the hospital after a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed into her minivan while she was turning from University Boulevard to Central Avenue. Emergency responders transported Burnett to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
The tractor-trailer was hauling steel slag, a significant amount of which spilled into the roadway in the accident.
