On or about Thursday, February 4th, 2021, around 4:30 in the afternoon, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer left an 18-year-old man dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident happened on Highway 79 just outside Dean in Clay Township, Texas.
Texas DPS spokespeople said 18-year-old Dalton Trace Florida was killed when his southbound SUV allegedly veered into oncoming traffic and struck a tractor-trailer. Emergency responders pronounced Florida dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Officials identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as Lawrence Maly, who was unhurt in the accident.
Google Maps shows Highway 79 runs north and south through the center of Dean, which is situated about 136 miles northwest of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
