Details:
On or about February 19th, 2022, around 5:25 in the morning, an accident with a suspected drunk driver sent a 51-year-old man to the hospital. Local law enforcement officials said the accident was reported along South Garland Avenue at the intersection with Kingsley Road in Garland, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said 51-year-old Dalyis Gomez was injured when his car was allegedly struck from behind by a pickup truck driven by a suspected drunk driver when Gomez was stopped at the intersection of South Garland Avenue and Kingsley Road. Gomez was taken to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified nature or severity.
Officials said they believe the driver of the pickup truck may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
Police are still investigating.
