Details:
On or about Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, around 11:20 in the morning, a major accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle claimed the life of a 39-year-old Crestwood man. Troopers from the KSP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 71 in Oldham County, Kentucky.
Deputies from the Oldham County Sheriff’s Office said 39-year-old Daniel Griffith was killed when his car was allegedly struck from behind by a tractor-trailer in stopped or slowed traffic on I-71. Emergency responders pronounced Griffith dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 71 cuts north and south through Oldham County, which is about 19 miles northeast of downtown Louisville.
Authorities are still looking into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
