On or about Saturday, December 19th, 2020, around 8:00 in the evening, an accident between a pickup towing a trailer and a car left a 60-year-old man dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident happened on Highway 277 about 7 miles south of San Angelo, Texas.

Deputies from the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office said 60-year-old Daniel Clain Lott was killed when the car he was driving allegedly struck a GMC Sierra when he attempted to pass in the oncoming lanes of traffic. Emergency responders pronounced Lott dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the collision.

Looking at Highway 277 on Google Maps shows a three lane roadway, with two lanes running south and one lane running north. San Angelo is situated about 211 miles northwest of the San Antonio area.

Officials hope to release more information at a later date.
