Details:
On or about Wednesday, July 21st, 2021, around 4:45 in the afternoon, an accident between an SUV and three tractor-trailers claimed the life of a 37-year-old man Las Cruces man. Troopers from the NMSP said the accident was reported along the westbound side of Interstate 10 just outside Deming in Luna County, New Mexico.
Investigators said 37-year-old Daniel Quintana was killed when the tractor-trailer he was driving flipped after an SUV allegedly blew a tire on westbound Interstate 10. Two other tractor-trailers then collided with Quintana’s 18-wheeler. Emergency responders pronounced Quintana dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. No other injuries were mentioned by police in their initial statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 10 runs east and west through Luna County, with the scene of the accident situated between Las Cruces and Deming.
Police are still investigating the crash.
