On or about Tuesday, June 8th, 2021, around 11:30 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a truck claimed the life of a 44-year-old man. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Department said the accident happened in the 100 block of 66th Street in Lubbock, Texas.
Officials from the area said 44-year-old Daniel Saiz was killed when he was allegedly struck by a truck as he was walking near or making an attempt to cross 66th Street. Emergency responders rushed Saiz to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is located on the south side of Lubbock, just north of Loop 289.
Police are still investigating.
