On or about Thursday, February 18th, 2021, around 8:00 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler sent a 54-year-old man to the hospital. Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened at the intersection of 420th and Eagle Avenue just outside Ireton, Iowa.

Troopers from the ISP said 54-year-old Daniel Vanden Bosch was injured when his pickup truck was allegedly struck by an 18-wheeler while passing through the intersection of Eagle Avenue while driving westbound on 420th Street. Paramedics transported Vanden Bosch to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. Authorities identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as Jakob Van Noort, who was unhurt in the accident.

According to Google Maps, Ireton is about 40 miles north of Sioux City, South Dakota.

State and local law enforcement are investigating the accident.
