On or about Wednesday, June 30th, 2021, around 2:09 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a minivan left one woman dead and sent two teens to the hospital. Troopers from the KSP said the accident was reported on the westbound side of Interstate 70 in Ellsworth, Kansas.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said 40-year-old Danielle Dee Hoskins was killed, while Shay and Grace Hoskins were injured when their minivan was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer while using a crossover on Interstate 70. Danielle Hoskins was pronounced dead of her injuries a short time after the accident. Emergency responders transported Shay and Grace Hoskins to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 70 runs east and west just north of Ellsworth, which is about 148 miles west of Topeka.

Authorities are still examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
