On or about Monday, July 12th, 2021, around 2:00 in the afternoon, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident claimed the life of a 68-year-old Oklahoma man. Troopers from the DPS said the accident occurred on Highway 155 just outside Avinger in Cass County, Texas.
Police said 68-year-old Danny Green was killed when the tractor-trailer he was driving allegedly lost control and skidded off the side of the road and crashed into a wooded patch a short distance off the pavement. Green was ejected from the tractor-trailer in the crash and died of his injuries a short time after the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries or vehicles stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, Highway 155 runs northeast and southwest through Cass County, with the scene of the accident not far from the Avinger city limits, about 149 miles east of Dallas.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
