Details:
On or about Sunday, March 13th, 2022, around 3:47 in the afternoon, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a train left a 49-year-old woman dead. Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported at a railroad crossing on Highway 8 in Maud, Texas.
Representatives from the Texas DPS said 49-year-old Darla Masters was killed when the vehicle she was driving was allegedly struck by a train at a crossing along Highway 8. Paramedics pronounced Masters dead of her injuries a short time after the accident. Police did not mention any other injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, Maud is about 161 miles east of downtown Dallas.
State and local law enforcement agencies assisted after the accident.
