Details:
On or about Saturday, January 15th, 2022, around 1:00 in the morning, a major single-vehicle car accident left a 32-year-old man dead. Deputies from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported in the 2200 block of Highway 183 in Austin, Texas.
Spokespeople from the Austin Police Department said 32-year-old Darlan Manrique Pena Rodriguez was killed when the vehicle he was driving allegedly veered off the side of the roadway and slammed into a barrier a short distance off the pavement. Paramedics pronounced Rodriguez dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the northeast side of Austin.
Police are still investigating the incident.
