On or about Friday, June 10th, 2022, sometime in the hours after dark, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a wrong-way driver left one person dead and sent four others to the hospital. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Interstate 35 in Temple, Texas.
Representatives from the Texas Department of Public Safety said Darrel Scott was killed when the vehicle he was driving allegedly struck another car head-on while driving the wrong direction on Interstate 35. Emergency responders pronounced Scott dead of his injuries a short time after the accident, while the driver and three children in the other vehicle were rushed to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 35 winds north and south through Temple.
Officials are still investigating the crash.
