Details:
On or about Saturday, October 23rd, 2021, around 2:15 in the afternoon, an accident between two tractor-trailers left one truck driver dead and injured a second. Troopers from the KSP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 35 in Wichita, Kansas.
Police said 60-year-old Darwin Dammann was killed when the tractor-trailer he was driving allegedly struck the back of an 18-wheeler driven by 34-year-old Ibrahim Bashir that was moving slowly with mechanical issues. Dammann was ejected from his truck in the collision and died a short time after EMS responded to the crash. Bashir was treated for unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 35 runs north and south through Wichita, with the scene of the accident situated on the south side of town.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
