Details:
On or about Thursday, June 2nd, 2022, sometime in the hours after dark, an accident with an alleged drunk driver left a 49-year-old man dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along State Highway 46 in Kendall County, Texas.
Representatives from the Texas DPS said 49-year-old David Belter was killed when his vehicle was allegedly hit head-on by a vehicle driving the wrong direction on Highway 46. Paramedics pronounced Belter dead of his injuries a short time after they responded to the scene of the accident. The driver of the other vehicle, identified as 22-year-old Kendall Lauren Batchelor, was taken to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
Officials have since charged Batchelor with intoxication manslaughter in connection with the crash.
