On or about Thursday, March 3rd, 2022, around 11:05 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a tractor-trailer left a 34-year-old Carthage man dead. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 149 in Panola County, Texas.
Investigators from the Texas DPS said 34-year-old David Crooks was killed when the pickup truck he was driving allegedly crested a hill and collided with a tractor-trailer as the truck was turning into a private driveway on Highway 149. Emergency responders pronounced Crooks dead of his injuries a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, Panola County is about 171 miles southeast of downtown Dallas.
Texas DPS and local authorities assisted after the accident.
