On or about Wednesday, November 17th, 2021, around 3:20 in the afternoon, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer left a 69-year-old Alvarado man dead. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported at the intersection of County Road 308 and Highway 67 near Nemo in Somervell County, Texas.
Texas DPS Troopers said 69-year-old David A. Hanks was killed when the pickup truck he was driving allegedly failed to yield at the intersection of County Road 308 and US Highway 67 when it was struck broadside by a tractor-trailer that was traveling westbound on Highway 67. Paramedics rushed Hanks to Texas Health Resources Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance east of Nemo, which is about 70 miles southwest of downtown Dallas.
Authorities are still working to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
