On or about Thursday, January 27th, 2022, around 9:40 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a minivan at the scene of another accident left a 57-year-old Maple Heights, Ohio man dead. Troopers from the TSP said the accident was reported along the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near the exchange with the Strawberry Plains Pike in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Officers from the area said 57-year-old David Joseph Morgan was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed into the minivan he was in at the scene of a previous accident. Morgan was pronounced dead of the injuries he sustained when he was ejected from the minivan a short time after the emergency responders arrived at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the east side of Knoxville.
Police are still investigating the accident.
