On or about Saturday, June 18th, 2022, around 2:20 in the morning, a serious hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left a 31-year-old Georgia man dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Loop 338 in Odessa, Texas.
Representatives from the Texas DPS said 31-yar-old David Keohavong was killed when he was allegedly hit by a vehicle as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Loop 338. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene. Emergency responders pronounced Keohavong dead a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if he died at the scene, or if he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is near mile marker 284 on Loop 338.
Authorities are still looking for the driver and vehicle that fled the scene.
