On or about Friday, July 30th, 2021, around 8:45 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and a dump truck left a 68-year-old man dead. Troopers from the MSHP said the accident was reported on Highway 71 at the intersection with 224th Street in Nodaway County, Missouri.

Officials said 68-year-old David Wayne Cruth was killed when his pickup truck allegedly collided with a dump truck that was stopped in the intersection of 224th Street and Highway 71. First responders rushed Cruth to Mosaic Maryville Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.

According to Google Maps, the intersection of 224th Street and Highway 71 is a short distance from Wilcox, which is roughly 104 miles north of downtown Kansas City.

Authorities are still investigating the accident.
