On or about Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022, around 3:06 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle claimed the life of a 40-year-old man. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported along Interstate 20 in St. Clair County, Alabama.
Representative from the Alabama State Police said 40-year-old David D. Weatherspoon was killed when the SUV he was driving was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer while driving down Interstate 20. Emergency responders pronounced Weatherspoon dead of his injuries a short time after the accident. Authorities did not mention any other vehicle in their statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from Pell City.
Police are still examining the cause of the accident.
