On or about Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021, around 12:00 in the afternoon, a single-vehicle garbage truck accident claimed the life of a 53-year-old Rochester man. Troopers from the MSP said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of Interstate 90 just outside Austin, Minnesota.

Authorities from the Minnesota State Police said 53-year-old Dean Sinnwell was killed when the garbage truck he was driving allegedly veered off the side of Interstate 90 and rolled when it struck a barrier a short distance off the pavement. Paramedics pronounced Sinnwell dead after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if he died at the scene of after he was taken to a nearby hospital.

According to Google Maps, Interstate 90 cuts east and west through Austin, which is about 99 miles south of downtown Minneapolis.

State and local law enforcement assisted after the crash.
