On or about Thursday, June 10th, 2021, around 4:30 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV sent a 51-year-old woman to the hospital. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along Highway 96 in Jasper, Texas.
Police from the area said 51-year-old Deanna Eustace was injured when her SUV allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer in the southbound lanes of Highway 59. Eustace was pinned in the vehicle after the initial impact, and was rushed to the hospital after being cut from the wreckage. Authorities identified Markeith Cauley as the driver of the tractor-trailer, who was uninjured in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated a short distance south of Jasper’s town center, which is about 134 miles northeast of downtown Houston.
Texas DPS and local law enforcement are investigating the accident.
