On or about Saturday, April 3rd, 2021, around 9:00 at night, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer left a 59-year-old woman dead. Troopers from the DPS said the accident happened along Highway 36 near the intersection with Burgundy Lane in Temple, Texas.
Authorities said 59-year-old Dena Self Montgomery was killed when her Dodge Ram pickup truck allegedly crossed over the center line and struck a tractor-trailer. First responders pronounced Montgomery dead of her injuries at the scene of the accident. The driver of the 18-wheeler was unhurt in the accident.
The intersection of Highway 36 and Burgundy Lane is on the far north edge of Temple, according to Google Maps.
Police are still investigating.
