Details:
On or about December 3rd, 2020, around 1:57 in the afternoon, an accident between a truck and several cars claimed the life of a baby and sent three people to the hospital. Troopers from the DPS said the accident happened along Highway 83 at the intersection with FM 1435 in Duval County, Texas.
Department of Public Safety representatives said a truck towing a trailer allegedly slammed into the back of a Toyota Corolla driven by Denise Blanco. Following the initial collision, the truck collided with a Dodge Charger. A 3-month-old baby in the Corolla died a short time after the accident. Paramedics transported Denise Blanco to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. One person in the Charger was also hurt.
Authorities have since charged the driver of the truck with criminally negligent homicide in connection with the accident.
Texas DPS Troopers and local law enforcement assisted at the scene.
