On or about Tuesday, July 6th, 2021, around 11:45 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer left a 78-year-old man dead. Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at the intersection of 10th Street and Washington Street in Blair, Nebraska.
Officials from the Nebraska State Police said 78-year-old Dennis Showers was killed when his pickup truck and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified conditions at the intersection of 10th Street and Washington Street. Showers was pronounced dead from his injuries after the accident. Police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as 30-year-old Curtis Malone, who was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Blair is situated about 26 miles north of downtown Omaha.
Police are still working to pin down the cause of the accident.
