On or about Thursday, December 2nd, 2021, around 6:10 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle claimed the life of a 66-year-old man. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 6 and Kelley Road in Waller County, Texas.
Texas DPS spokespeople said 66-year-old Dennis Wilson was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly attempted a U-turn and struck the Mini Cooper Wilson was driving. Wilson was pronounced dead a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if he died at the scene or after being transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries after his arrival.
Officials have since cited the driver of the tractor-trailer with failure to yield in connection with the accident.
According to Google Maps, Waller County is situated about 57 miles northwest of downtown Houston.
Authorities noted the conditions were foggy at the time of the accident.
