Details:
On or about Thursday, October 22nd, around 1:05 in the morning, an accident with a box truck and another vehicle sent two people to the hospital. Police said the accident happened on State Road 162 just outside Ferdinand in Dubois County, Indiana.
Authorities said that 45-year-old Derrick Carter and 42-year-old Juanito Lyons were injured when the box truck they were in collided with another vehicle under unknown conditions. Paramedics airlifted Carter to St. Vincent Hospital , while Lyons was transported by ground ambulance to Jasper Memorial.
Taking a look at SR 162 shows a two lane highway that runs north and south directly through the heart of Ferdinand, which is situated about 55 miles northeast of Evansville.
Officials are still investigating the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
