Details:
On or about December 25th, 2021, a serious accident with an alleged drunk driver left one individual dead and sent another person to the hospital. Officers from the LPD said the accident was reported along Park Street near the intersection with Santa Ursula Avenue in Laredo, Texas.
Representatives from the Laredo Police Department said Diana Huizar was killed and Jose Serna was injured when the van they were in was allegedly struck by a vehicle that ran a red light at the intersection of Park Street and Santa Ursula Avenue. Emergency responders rushed Huziar and Serna to a nearby hospital where Huziar succumbed to her injuries a short time after the accident.
Authorities have since identified the driver of the other vehicle as Angel Abiel Montemayor, who currently faces charges of intoxication manslaughter in connection with the accident.
Police are still investigating.
