On or about Thursday, January 13th, 2022, around 11:21 at night,, a serious accident between a train and a passenger vehicle left a 33-year-old woman dead. Local law enforcement spokespeople said the accident was reported at a railroad crossing along Stan Roberts Sr. Avenue not far from the intersection with Dyer Street in El Paso, Texas.
Officers from the El Paso Police Department said 33-year-old Diana Saray Vasquez was killed when the car she was driving allegedly lost control and crashed onto train tracks a short distance off Stan Roberts Sr. Avenue. A short time after the initial accident, Vasquez’ car was struck by an oncoming train. Emergency responders rushed Vasquez to nearby University Medical Center of El Paso where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival. Authorities did not mention any other injuries stemming from the incident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the northeast side of El Paso.
Police are still working to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the incident.
