On or about Monday, January 4th, 2021, around 6:44 in the morning, a hit-and-run accident between a tractor-trailer and a car claimed the life of a 68-year-old woman. State Police said the accident happened along Lazy Lagoon Road near the intersection with DuPont Boulevard in Frankford, Vermont.
Authorities from the area said 68-year-old Dianna Jones was killed when her westbound car was hit by a tractor-trailer. After the initial collision, the tractor-trailer fled the scene of the crash. Paramedics pronounced Jones dead of her injuries at the scene of the accident.
Examining Lazy Lagoon Road on Google Streetview shows an east/westbound roadway that cuts through a residential area. According to Google Maps, Frankford is located about 51 miles south of Dover.
Police expect to release more information at a later date.
