On or about Friday, February 11th, 2022, around 6:30 in the evening, a hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a flatbed truck left a 59-year-old man dead. Officers from the KCPD said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of 89th Street and Troost Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.

Law enforcement representatives said 59-year-old Donald Bellamy was killed when he was allegedly hit by a flatbed truck as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic at 89th and Troost. After the initial accident the flatbed tow truck fled the scene. Emergency responders pronounced Bellamy dead of his injuries a short time after the accident.

According to Google Maps, the intersection of 89th Street and Troost Avenue is on the south side of Kansas City.

Police are still trying to track down the flatbed truck and driver.
