On or about Thursday, February 11th, 2021, an accident between an 18-wheeler, a car, and a heavy duty pickup truck left one person dead and sent two others to the hospital. Department of Public Safety Troopers said the accident happened along Highway 7 at the Big Creek Bridge just outside Marlin in Falls County, Texas.

Investigators said a Cadillac CTS allegedly crossed over the center line of the roadway when it collided with an 18-wheeler. After the initial collision, the tractor-trailer allegedly crossed over the center line and struck a Dodge 3500 pickup driven by 63-year-old Donald Beaman. Beaman was pronounced dead of his injuries at the scene. Two people in the Cadillac were rushed to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Google Maps shows Highway 7 cuts east and west through the center of Marlin, which is about 29 miles southwest of Waco.

Troopers from the DPS and local authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
