Details:
On or about Wednesday, October 4th, 2020, around 1:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a tanker truck and a tractor-trailer hauling logs left two men dead. State Police said the accident happened on Highway 175 near the intersection with Heard Road in Desoto Parish, Louisiana.
Authorities believe 45-year-old Joseph Free and 63-year-old Donnie Rogers were killed when a southbound log truck driven by Free allegedly crossed over the center line and struck the tanker truck Rogers was driving. Both Rogers and Free died of their injuries a short time after the collision.
Google Maps shows Highway 175 as a two lane major roadway that cuts through a wooded, residential area. Desoto Parish is located about 39 miles south of Shreveport.
State and local law enforcement agencies are assisting with the investigation.
