Details:
On or about Friday, March 18th, 2022, sometime in the early morning hours, a serious hit-and-run accident left a cyclist dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Seawall Boulevard in Galveston, Texas.
Law enforcement representatives from the area said 67-year-old Dr. Nancy Hughes was killed when she was allegedly struck by a vehicle as she was riding her bike along Seawall Boulevard in the Cherry Hill area. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene. Hughes died of her injuries a short time after the incident, but it is not immediately clear if he she died at the scene, or if she was rushed to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival.
Authorities have since arrested 21-year-old Logan Llewellyn and charged him with accident involving death in connection with the incident.
Police are still investigating the incident.
