Driver Seriously Injured after Colliding with Trailer on Krome Avenue

The driver of a Chevrolet SUV was critically injured after crashing into a trailer being pulled by a Dodge Pickup Truck. Florida Highway Patrol reports the driver of the Dodge was attempting to make a left turn, however the trailer it was pulling was blocking portions of the road. The driver of the Chevy SUV collided with the trailer, causing the trailer to disconnect from the Dodge, and go into the path of an approaching semi-truck.

The SUV sustained serious damage, and emergency responders were forced to remove the roof of the vehicle in order to get the driver out, who was transported via helicopter to a nearby hospital. Authorities have yet to release the names of those involved.
