A male semi-truck driver was seriously injured in a single vehicle accident along westbound I-44 near Joplin, MO. Officers from the Joplin Police Department report the crash took place around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Initial reports say the semi crashed into a guard rail while on the overpass for Downstream Boulevard. The female passenger was uninjured in the crash. Authorities believe the driver may have experienced a medical issue, but the investigation is ongoing.
