Details:
On or about Wednesday, June 16th, 2021, around 10:00 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a school bus sent one man to the hospital. Troopers from the OHP said the accident happened along the eastbound side of Interstate 44 in Ottawa County, Oklahoma.
Investigators said 62-year-old Dwayne Holmes was injured when the school bus he was driving was allegedly rear-ended by a tractor-trailer as they were heading eastbound on I-44. After the initial collision, the tractor-trailer rolled off the side of the road. Paramedics rushed Holmes to a nearby hospital with serious injuries stemming from the accident. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unhurt in the accident.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 44 runs east and west through Ottawa County, with the scene of the accident about 5 miles east of the town of Miami.
State and local law enforcement are investigating the cause of the accident.
